My name is Mary and I run Prince Editing & Proofreading. As an avid reader and writer, I easily fell in love with mapping out story structures and fiddling with the technicalities of any written content. I haven’t worked for a big publisher, I prefer to work closely with my clients and be completely immersed in their writing.
Editing is an integral part to the writing process so I have made an effort to learn all I can about different forms and genres. I can edit novels, memoirs, screenplays, you name it and I’ll ace it. After completing my Bachelor of Creative Arts, I immediately went on to study a Master of Publishing to improve my skills and learn more about the publishing process and business. Editing is just the beginning for Prince, so stay tuned for future endeavours!
Not just an editor, I’m also a speculative fiction writer with a deep love for post-apocalyptic novels and horror films. As a writer, I have been involved with the Illawarra theatre community during my course of study and have had three of my short plays accepted by 24-Hour Theatre, Bridge Works, and the Tales anthology show. More recently, a science-fiction short story of mine was published in the Sydney University Student Anthology. Speculative fiction, especially from emerging Australian writers, is incredibly important to me and I am working towards creating more opportunities for writers to have their work seen in the spotlight.
